Christy Wood, CEO/President
Christy Wood assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce on October 30, 2023. With more than two decades of diverse experience in marketing, public relations, special events, and non-profit leadership, Christy has established herself as a dedicated and results-driven professional.
Christy is a seasoned industry veteran and took over the Burnsville-Yancey Chamber of Commerce where she increased membership, diversified revenue streams, and increased programming. Her leadership roles have included Executive Director of the Hillsboro, Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitor Bureau, where her strategic vision and leadership skills contributed to the growth and success of the local business community. Christy also demonstrated her exceptional abilities as the Alumni Director at Colorado State University-Pueblo and as the Marketing Manager for the Downtown Mesa Association.
After building her previous Chamber foundation, Christy was looking for an opportunity to work in a larger community which brough her to Corvallis. She has a partner that relocated to Oregon with her and is deeply rooted in family life, with two adult children and two sisters, one of whom is her twin. Beyond her professional pursuits, Christy finds immense joy in various activities. She is an avid enthusiast of the outdoors and enjoys hiking, running, biking, and kayaking, savoring fine wines, and great food.
In her role as CEO of the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce, Christy is enthusiastic about the extraordinary opportunities that Benton County has to offer. She is passionate about becoming an integral part of the community, making a meaningful difference, and leveraging the inherent beauty and natural resources to benefit both the local businesses and residents.
With her wealth of experience and genuine commitment to the community, Christy Wood is well-prepared to lead the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce into a prosperous and promising future.
Giselle Gutierrez, Membership & Community Manager
Giselle is a passionate and driven college student on a mission to kick-start her career journey while still pursuing her academic goals. With a keen interest in business and marketing, she is eager to explore and contribute to the professional world.
As an aspiring professional, she is excited to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experiences. She is currently studying psychology after having left OSU’s College of Business, where she honed her skills in marketing.
In addition to her academic pursuits, she is committed to learning and growing with each opportunity in the workforce. She believes in the power of networking and building meaningful connections and is enthusiastic about connecting with professionals in the industry and learning from their insights.
Outside of academics and work, Giselle enjoys true crime podcasts, experimenting in the kitchen and visiting her family in Boring, OR.
